Guess246

Guess246 drops you on a real Barbados street and asks: wuh part you is?

Guess246 is a street-guessing game built entirely from real Barbados. Each round places you on an actual road in Street View and gives you seconds to name it. Every correct answer opens a piece of the island's history, with Black and Brown Barbados told first: the people, the ground, and what happened there. Play solo across three routes, race friends in live rooms from anywhere in the world, or pass one phone around the table. Launching in the sixtieth year of Independence and the fifth as a Republic. Sixty and five, as de PM say.

120+ real locations 11 parishes 3 difficulty routes Live multiplayer rooms Pass & Play on one phone History on every reveal Island-wide leaderboard
  1. The island is the game. No invented map. 122 real streets across all 11 parishes, from Bridgetown corners to country roads, exactly as they look today.
  2. The history is the point. Every reveal carries the story of that ground, from the West India Regiments at the Garrison to the flag raised at midnight in 1966. The game is the hook. The memory is what stays.
  3. Made by two. Two Barbadians, no committee, the island's own voice, for Bajans at home and away.

Why the ZR

The van in the game is a ZR, the privately run route taxi that takes its name from the letters on its plate. It is a fair question why a game about the island's roads rides in one. The plain answer is that for decades the ZR has been the most dependable way to get across Barbados on most routes, whatever else is said about it: it runs early and late, it stops where you ask, and the fare is the same for everyone.

It is also where the island sits together. When the van fills and you make yourself small on the back seat, you are sharing that space with every part of Bajan society, and hearing whatever the driver is in the mood for: bashment, soca, dancehall, reggae, gospel, or the oldies. Visitors have taken to calling them the reggae buses; anyone who rides them knows the playlist is wider than that.

The ZR has its problems, and Bajans do not pretend otherwise. But it is part of how the island moves and how it talks to itself, and that made it the right vehicle for a game about where you are.

Two Barbadians, one mission

We started with a simple idea: the island is small, but every road has a story. Everything we build starts from a Bajan point of view - and from the belief that technology should bring people closer to each other and to their cultures.
